What We Become

They tell you when you start the road
They tell you that the road is long
They don’t tell you it never ends
They don’t tell you that it’s all hills

And I am tired

It’s beautiful, it’s beautiful
It’s long, it’s hard, and I am tired
And here among these picture books
Perhaps I’ll rest a little while

Not my quarter

They’re all well-kept, the picture books
Like someone reads them every day
Not overgrown, like my quarter,
With dead grass, and mushrooms, and moss.

It’s a stark difference

It’s a stark difference, isn’t it?
From picture-book to literature,
Look how they throw their things away
And paint the wood in shades of grey

What do they know?

For all that rhyme and whimsy lost
Another suited mannequin
Can take its place among the rest
And lurch through life without a song

But does the moon make up for it?

The thinning of the atmosphere,
I admit, makes the sky more clear
But does the moon make up for it?
I don’t think so. No; I do not.

Watch the pages fly

My anger turns into an orb
My wings release me from the flames
You don’t respect this treasure trove?
I’ll burn the whole place to the ground.

Weep for Alexandria

Now, find me in a gallery
Called Weep for Alexandria
Some artist painted tears on me
And said I must have felt despair.

Despair? You fool. No: that is hate.
At what I watched you do to them,
My books, my scrolls, my poetry
And all the people who loved them.

I give and give, and every time
You answer me ungratefully
No more chances, children of earth
This time the fires will never end.

Val, Chapter 1

I don’t really know what chapter this is, so we’ll start with one since that’s where everybody else starts and I might as well fit in in some way.

I am Valoisa Saga. I am from Tampere, in Finland. I am ninety, very young for an Elf, but you didn’t hear me say that. It is more fashionable on the Internet to say otherkin, but then that also translates to nerd, so I guess I can say that too.

But really, call me Val. It’s easier, and I guess it’s true that not even Finns all speak good Finnish.

Yesterday was my first day working at Immortal Ink in Myserie, Oregon. I’m glad I got a job in the Pacific Northwest. The rest of the USA seems a little too crazy. I mean, everybody back in Tampere thinks I’m crazy for wanting to come back here at all, but weed’s legal, and The Netherlands is a shithole. Just sayin’. OK, probably not all of The Netherlands. But definitely Amsterdam. Amster, Amster, dam, dam, dam, dam.

There’s plenty to hate about Immortal Ink, but I’ll improve it over time, and Old Jimbo (OK, he’s actually called Deadeye, but I’ve already named him Jimbo) is only an arse on days ending in ‘y’. Fact is, it’s nice to be the best artist in the shop. OK, the only artist in the shop. I’m laughing. But enough snark. Still laughing. There is never enough snark. History time!

My last day in Tampere

So, this was my last day in Tampere. Iivo said he was sorry to see me go, but he also was sorry he didn’t have a place for me at the studio; since the old owner was packing up most of the operation and moving to Spain, he expected business to go down a bit. I like Iivo, but he’s a bit limp when it comes to taking chances. Then again, he’s got a full house for tattooists and I’m only just certified in body mod. I guess, given the area, it’s a buyer’s market.

Goodbye, Iivo. Goodbye, Kalevala, Goodbye, drunk Finnish boys who want bears inked on your arses.

My last day, and it was August, so it stood to reason: sataa kuin Esterin perseestä. That’s vulgar, so I’ll just say it was raining cats and dogs. I don’t mind the rain: I’m not a stupid film witch, and I never met any real ones who melt anyway.

Mum planned to take me, even though Iivo said he would if I wanted him to. Nearest portal is Kangasala; Tampere is a magical wasteland, which I guess is probably why so many fae businesses do well there. Half the coffee shops are run by us elves, and of course being Finland elves are the majority of the Fae population, with a pretty good divide between Lios and Svart, not that we make much of a distinction these days. It’s the stupid western colonials who continue with their uppity pomp and circumstance and Victorian made-up stories about Seelie and Unseelie courts. We laugh about this, you know. Brits, Americans, they all had so much great mythology to draw from, and they picked Scottish words from the North of Scotland, which OK, are at least derived from Scandinavia where we like to think the first elves came from (yeah; that’s probably cultural superiority; people think Santa Claus comes from here, too), but give me a break. Seelie and Unseelie. Just because I am prohibited by blood from outright lying to you doesn’t mean I won’t outright fuck you up if you give me reason to. Why not fucking you up for sport makes me part of some special and different clan, I have no idea. My older sister Ula will fuck you up for sport: does that make her Unseelie? No fucking clue.

Anyway, that’s what I was thinking about on the drive to Kangasala, because Mum had to give me a lecture reminding me that American Fae have this antiquated system, and I’m all, ‘Mum, I picked a place that doesn’t do that, I looked it up, they don’t do the stupid winter and summer court thing, there’s no Queen Of Air And Darkness,’ And I totally did the funny voice. The look she gave me!

There’s no Queen of Air And Darkness

I should have let Iivo take me. At least there would have been beer. Mum wasn’t even going to let me vape in the car.

“You call me the minute you get there,” she said.

“Mum,” I said. “It’s a portal. It takes seconds.”

“You still call me.” She started to tear up.

“Mum,” I said. “You can come visit.”

Her mouth opened, then closed. “I am not made for America,” she said. She walked round the back of the car and grabbed the big suitcase and a smaller bag. Oh paska, Mum, you did not. “Here. You’re taking it.”

“Mum.”

“You’re taking it.”

“Fuck’s sake, Mum.”

She folded her arms across her chest. “And you’re kissing me goodbye.”

You know what? My mum is sixteen hundred years old. I am her youngest child, her baby. She averages one child every other century or so. It occurred to me it was not wise to say no to her at this time. I opened my arms, palms out in the universal gesture of surrender. I put my arms around my mother and felt her arms around me. I kissed her goodbye.

And I took the suitcase, and the goddamn kantele, and I walked through the sithen gate, knowing she’d follow, knowing she’d watch, knowing she’d cry before and after, but not during, that all-important, “Yeah, mum, I made it,” phone call.

And that was the end of my last day in Tampere

And that was the end of my last day in Tampere. And, I guess, the start of the new chapter.

Calling Spring

So much time alone. Even here in Faerie we are touched by the current human pandemic; our tourism has ceased for the foreseeable future, as we are not a wholly magical set of Realms like the Fantasy Faire, and our tourist base is largely in Realms where travel is heavily controlled.

Snapshot_019 BLOG

We get depressed, too.

Now, of course, we’re lucky here in my little pocket Realm: if we were a big tourist destination like Awenia, we’d see even more isolation. But, being the stewardess of a tiny Realm has its positives, as well.

I called Spring

It’s not like you can just get on the horn and go, ‘Yo, Spring! Get me some flowers, immediately‘! You have to concentrate. You have to see the flowers in your mind. You have to be in a space where, if magic did occur, flowers could in fact appear in some way or another (like through this window, for example).

Being Delighted

And then of course it’s only polite to be properly delighted when Spring does in fact send you exactly what you were asking for.

Snapshot_017 BLOG

And more!

When that happens, of course, there’s only one thing to do:

Snapshot_018 BLOG

Let Spring know you love it

Let Spring know you love it, in no uncertain terms. Make sure it knows. Even if you whisper it completely to yourself, Spring will hear: trust me.

Send It Forward.

Then, send it forward, far and wide, everywhere you can reach. Don’t worry: Spring knows you can’t reach everywhere. But there are plenty of others who will help you pass Spring along. We’re everywhere.

She called the dress Unchained Melody, and I love that song: it’s part of the soundtrack of my childhood. It was released the year before I was born (so now you all know that I am super old). Kitties And Bunnies And Bears! Or, How I Visited The Spirit Valley Of Kuruk And Did Not Find My Centre Or Experience Perfect Bliss And Tranquility

You have to go. That’s what everyone says, anyway. Sometime in your life, where your life is defined as that period of existence between physical birth and physical death, you must at one time or another visit the Spirit Valley of Kuruk. I will note that visiting the Spirit Valley of Kuruk is a challenge, because it has appeared only once in my physical lifetime (that I know of).

Once I heard that the Spirit Valley was visible and within a day’s travel, I just dropped everything and went, all by myself. I felt it needed to be a personal and solitary journey.

The Spirit Valley’s Beauty Is Unmatched

One thing no-one will deny is that the Valley itself is singularly beautiful. With a landscape marked by stunning chalk paintings (which look to be well-kept by those who live there), it’s easy to just stand there, awestruck, when you first enter the basin. For me, the paintings were overwhelming. It was only after I had taken many of them in that I began to notice the rock formations themselves, the many paths and caves. It seemed made by a miracle, the sort of place where anything could happen. So, as I stepped into the Valley, I was prepared for a magical experience.

La-Dee-Dah!

And magic did occur soon after I took that first step. For there, asleep on a rock, was an adorable turquoise kitty cat with ickle pink ears! I couldn’t help it: I squealed.

Now, if you’ve ever woken up an adorable turquoise kitty cat with ickle pink ears (and who hasn’t, really?), you know that the adorable turquoise kitty, as a rule, does not like to be disturbed while she is sleeping.

There was hissing. Hackles were raised. Claws were displayed. Clearly, the kitty was just here for the sunlight and nap spots.

“Fine,” I said, and made to walk away. Everyone knows the first thing you have to do in the Valley is take a picture with the Big Bear by the singing bowls at the big fire circle. I’m not really sure if he has a name: I was really just there for the photo opp.

Halfway across the circle, I heard a loud ‘MEOW’, and sure enough there was the adorable turquoise kitty! She was trotting up behind me fast. ‘Look, you!’ she said. ‘I don’t know what you are, Miss Biped, but you woke me up, so now I’ll be visiting the Valley with you. That means you have to feed me.’

Well, all right then. I was in the company of an adorable, verbal turquoise kitty cat with a sarcastic streak. Super. I may sound sarcastic, but in fact it was very nice to meet a talking kitty cat; I’ve always wanted to know what’s on their adorable little minds.

The Obligatory Tourist Photo!

And here we all are, mugging for the camera with one Big Bear and one Little Bear! This photo cost me five dollars! Five dollars for a single photo? I suddenly began to wonder about the spiritual basis of the Spirit Valley itself, or at least of the Photo Bear, who had impressive looking teeth.

Still, looking up was a treat. So I did that.

Still, looking up was a treat. So I did that instead of thinking about how many photos I wanted to pay that kind of money for. Luckily, my mobile phone is easily stashed inside even the smallest vest, which I might have been wearing that day.

Time to plan our next move!

Still, I was here, and I was going to see as much of the legendary Spirit Valley as I could before nightfall. Bears make me kind of nervous at night, if I’m honest.

‘We’re going over there!’ said the adorable, talking turquoise kitty cat.

‘What if I don’t want to?’ I had not yet realised that one does not argue with an adorable, talking turquoise kitty cat.

‘Well, La Dee Dah says you do!’ said the cat. And she hoisted her tail and ran up the mountain, up a roundabout trail, and toward a cave.

‘Caves are dangerous!’ I called out. ‘Is that your name, then? La Dee Dah? That’s a mouthful. Can I just call you “La” for short?’

‘No!’ came the sharp reply, followed by a loud yowl. ‘Shit! I fell’.

Great, adorable talking turquoise kitty cat has a potty mouth. I sighed and followed. ‘Do you need help? I could pick you up.’

‘Touch me at your peril, you winged abomination!’

I chose to avoid peril and watched as she clawed her way out of the ravine into which she’d fallen.

Up and up we climbed, until we came to…

Bones. Lots and lots of bones.

There were skeletons. Like humanoid skeletons. In chains. ‘La Dee Dah!’ I shouted. That was going to take some getting used to. ‘We do not sit in skeletal laps! You don’t know who’s been gnawing on those bones!’

It was at this point I noticed that her eyes were rather glow-y. I feared the worst.

Instead, she just muttered, ‘Spoilsport’, and stalked off in another direction. ‘I guess you want to see the Pretty Pretty River’, she said.

Pretty Pretty River

As a matter of fact, I did, so I didn’t argue and followed her down the steep slope onto what felt once again like mostly level ground. Now, you may think La (I can call her that in my head) was being sarcastic, since she’d been mostly sarcastic since we met, but in fact the river in the Spirit Valley of Kuruk is called the Pretty Pretty River. It may be translated from some language that involves a lot of tonal humming and clicks, or maybe a bear roar? I don’t know.

It lived up to its name, though. There were many lovely trees and even a frog carved out of the rock. ‘Look, La Dee Dah’, I said, ‘his eyes are the same colour as your fur’!

She didn’t answer me, or really even acknowledge that I’d spoken, so intent was she on getting back to the great circle in the central part of the basin.

This is my long-suffering look

I sighed the sigh of the long-suffering Divine Being who has just had her view of the Pretty Pretty River cut short. And I followed her, because what else was to be done, really. She was so small she might get hurt out there alone. There were, after all, bears.

From this side, the big scary bear rock looked much more menacing.

From this side of the circle, the bear rock looked much more menacing. I tried to concentrate on the Pretty Pretty River, which does actually run all the way round the bottom of the Valley; I didn’t expect I’d get much closer to it for the duration of our time together.

Unmatched Natural Beauty

Even though the trip wasn’t turning out the way I’d imagined, I couldn’t blame it on the scenery. As we turned toward the circle again, I was struck by the megalithic stones that flanked the entrance to the circle from across the Pretty Pretty River. I took a breath. La was having none of my hesitation; she just romped on out to the centre of the meadow, not bothering to walk the spiral in or out. Apparently the wrath of the bear gods does not descend upon adorable talking turquoise kitty cats. Apparently.

Once again, she ran ahead of me. It’s a good thing she’s so brightly coloured; I’d surely lose her if she had any sort of natural camouflage. Another reason to make sure she stayed with me: I suspected that after dark she’d glow in the firelight, and some bear would be all, ‘Look, an adorable turquoise marshmallow’! I still had to sprint to keep up.

Step away from the bunny!

I found her cuddled up with a bunny. A bunny. Oh, I’d heard the rumours, rumours that the Fairelands this year were overrun with bunnies, possibly spawned by the very likely evil blue glowing globe in Zodiac. I’d also heard rumours that they were being manufactured by the Fairchylde Herself, or at least by one of those insane Fantasy Faire Radio DJs. Those folks are weird, baby. But we love them. I personally did not love them enough to forgive them for the Plague Of Bunnies the Fairelands were currently experiencing, but of course your mileage may vary. It is also suspected that Princess Sonya Of Critter Meadow might be involved, but she just seemed so nice that one time I met her. But while I was sifting through conspiracy theories in my head, La was still cuddled up with a bunny. A bunny!

‘La! We do not cuddle bunnies‘! I shouted. The accomplice bunny just glared at me balefully as I spoke. They have great big teeth, you know, bunnies. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that’s what really happened to the skeletons up there on the cliffside.

‘I can’t hear you’! La replied. She began grooming herself.

‘Fine’, I muttered. ‘La Dee Dah! We do not cuddle bunnies!’

The adorable talking turquoise kitty cat stood up, arched her back, and hissed at me. ‘You are not my real mum’, she said. ‘I do what I want’. She sneezed. ‘And I have decided that we are going to climb up the other side of the basin because I want to meet a real bear’.

Oh, good; another hike. Luckily, I have wings.

Snapshot_024 (1) BLOG

How about this one?

‘How about this one’? I suggested. ‘He looks important’.

‘Can you not smell‘? she replied. ‘Or do they not teach you the difference between stuff that’s real and stuff that’s been carved out of stone and is some kind of bear god where you come from’? There may have been eye-rolling. ‘I’m gonna need a nap’.

I had heard that cats sleep 12-15 hours a day. ‘How long a nap do you need’?

‘Dunno. But after that we’re going back home and you’re going to feed me’.

I seem to have a new life-mate.

It didn’t take long for La to find the bear she was looking for. After a short exchange in growls, grunts, and paw movements, they came to an understanding.

Nap Time!

I ended up sitting on a pillow next to a bear deep in meditation and probably afraid to move for fear of cat claws, for four solid hours while La took a nap.

A Conspiracy in Elemaria?

Elemaria_021 (1) BLOG

Elemaria From Afar

From a Distance, the Fairelands Realm of Elemaria looks stately, doesn’t it? I suppose that’s why I, Your Fae Queen, was drawn to it. I do love castles. And as I’ve been absent from my own Realm for some months now, I was looking forward, when I first arrived at the Great Faire (regrettably late this year for reasons beyond my control), to walking the stately halls and pathways of a good, old-fashioned castle.

And it’s true, the pathways are stately, and the bridges are divine, and the views out over the sea are spectacular. And I don’t even need to mention the shopping to you: if you’re here are the Faire, you know that there is nothing better than Fairelands shopping. A balm to soothe the soul, I think, is shopping. If I ever get to the point where I’m tired of ball gowns and flowing skirts, just take me back to Awenia Faerie and turn me into a statue.

Elemaria_003 (1) BLOG

The thing is, it was sunny!

It was indeed sunny, a perfect day in early May, and so close to The Author’s birthday. I spent only a little while exploring the bridges and pathways (and possibly buying an entirely new spring wardrobe), but then the seemingly endless gardens called, and so that’s where I found myself, just at midmorning.

Some of you may have already heard from Fen, who I suppose you know better as The Amazing Catwoman. She’s been filling in for Wulfrich as my chief of security. He has gone on a long quest, and if I’m honest I don’t know if he’ll ever be back. The position’s as good as hers, and even though she still seems uneasy with me, I’m glad we’ve resumed our friendship. She’d been here ahead of me, scouting the Fairelands, and when we met my first morning here, she delivered some news that I must confess shook me slightly:

Elemaria_004 (1)d BLOG

There are bunnies. Everywhere.

“Gwennie,” she said. “There are bunnies. They are everywhere.” She paused for effect, or maybe because she’s never been super articulate, poor dear. “I am not making this up. I have only seen one or two Realms without bunnies, and I think they might just have been hiding out or something. I suspect a conspiracy.”

I considered. “Is it that thing where that huge drill in Auxentios’ Pass is meant to cause magical ailments and all manner of temporal anomalies?” I wondered.

“I think that’s a rumour,” she said. “I suspect that weird globe in Zodiac. Or, maybe…. maybe….” and she drew a finger across her lips, “I think maybe Sonya has something to do with it.”

And wouldn’t you know it; as soon as I started exploring the Realm’s generous and lush grounds, there they were. Bunnies.

Elemaria_016 (1) BLOG

This would require rumination.

This, I decided, would require rumination, and so I searched around for an out-of-the-way spot. Luckily, Elemaria boasts many of these: you could spend weeks here and never end up in the same quiet space to think.

The first such place I found had only half as many bunnies as the place before, so I settled in.

Elemaria_010 (1) BLOG

Thinky Thoughts

What possible significance, I wondered, could a large number of bunnies in the Fairelands have? Beings who’ve seen less of the magical world than I have might just think it had to do with spring, but I was not convinced. Also, there was a bunny, just over there. Just staring at me.

Elemaria_012 (1) BLOG

I ducked into the nearby cave

I ducked into the nearby cave to avoid the bunny’s disconcerting gaze. Another time, if I visited here, I might wonder who might have made this place, explore the nooks and crannies, but if I’m honest, I was just relieved not to find any errant rabbits within.

Elemaria_013 (1) BLOG

A Conspiracy Of Bunnies?

Now, everyone knows that the collective term for rabbits is a nest, or that’s what my human granny told me back before all this crap started. But something tells me these rabbits are in fact a conspiracy.

And it all started to roll around in my head. Huge steampunk drills that may be shrunk down and worn as hats. Weirdly glowing blue zodiac balls. No double-entendre intended, I swear. Spring. Propogation. The possibility of poems with an acrostic spelling out S O N Y A  M A R M U R E K hidden away in some dusty corner of the Heliodor Library.

My therapist tells me I may overthink things. She says instead of letting a thing roll around in my head for hours, sometimes years, I could, if I thought about it, expend much less energy and simply confront the source of my worry, let fate take its course (though I have heard recently that fate does not in fact exist), and just move on with my life.

Fine.

Rabitterrogation

I decided I might as well confront the closest bunny and ask what was up with all this.

Unfortunately for me, the bunny wasn’t interested in talking. But it was a nice rock and a lovely day, so I had a bit of a sun before moving on.

Elemaria_028 (1) BLOG

They’re everywhere!

Everywhere I went, there were more and more bunnies. Finally, I found a set of steps that led up to a secluded spot that I imagined must be just right for some meditation. And there was food on the table, so I had some lunch. Might as well, right?

Luckily, we Fae Royals are not encumbered by the rule that one must wait an hour after eating before swimming.

Elemaria_030 (2) BLOG

I might have said, “Cowabunga!”

I might have said “Cowabunga!” but I’ll deny it if you ask me. Ah, but what a lovely end to a day’s exploration of Elemaria. It was sure to be the first of many forays there: you all know how much I love a beautiful garden, and Elemaria, I decided, is really not a stately palace after all: It is a stunning garden, a forest, a stream system, and apparently a bunny sanctuary, all conveniently housed within the walls of a stately palace.

Thinking of a Place

Sometimes, thought is everything.

white couch BLOG - 2

Light = Dark

I’m moving through the dark
Of a long black night
Just moving with the moon
And the light it shines
And I’m thinking of a place
And it feels so very real
Just moving through the dark

Once I had a dream

I’m moving through the dark
Of a long black night
And I’m looking at the moon
And the light it shines
But I’m thinking of a place
And it feels so very real
Oh, it was so full of love!

See it through my eyes

Lead me through the light
Pull me from the water
Hold my hand and something turns to me
Turns me into you
Just see it through my eyes
Love me like no other
Hold my hand and something turns to me
Turns me into you
Turn in me
Into you

Lyrics excerpted from The War on Drugs, “Thinking of a Place”. (YouTube link follows credits)

Getting Ready for Spoonful of Sugar!

GR BLOG - 1

It’s almost time

It’s almost time! Time to get ready for two weeks of fashion shows, parties, and cool events, not to mention shopping! I’m all excited about the Spoonful of Sugar Festival, and I’ve roped Bran into coming with me to take some photographs. So this is the first of about twenty amazing dresses I have to fit and accessorise before the fact. It’s the excitement of putting a perfect look together that makes me anticipate an event like this so much. I admit, I’m often interested in these things for the shopping alone, but there’s so much more to an event like SoS.

GR BLOG - 5

All angles

Seeing something from all angles is important. I always want the shoes to work with the dress, the nails to work with the dress, the dress to work with me, my hair to be the perfect complement. Nathaniel is fond of saying that I might spend too much time on this stuff—but, you know. We’ve all seen his idea of fashion.

GR BLOG - 4

But how does it move?

But how does it move? That’s another consideration. This dress really knows how to move. I want to take it dancing.

GR BLOG - 3

Of course, I’m nothing without a good dressing room!

Of course, I’m nothing without a good dressing room! This is one of two dressing rooms in the Castle, technically for guests, but I love the privacy of it, so when we don’t have guests, I am spending a lot of time in it these days. The room is very bright and airy, and the furniture complements it beautifully. Now, anybody who knows me knows that I have a lot of vanities, most of which are stashed in a pocket dimension, because it’s more efficient to keep stuff there than just pile it in a random room, right?

GR BLOG - 2

Ready!

All right: I think this outfit is ready. Even the simplest things sometimes take me a while: my friends and subjects know that when I say, “Just let me get dressed,” they might be looking at a long wait. My adopted stepdaughter, Wren, is fond of just responding to that with, “And then, three days later….” She’s a hoot.

The Spoonful of Sugar Festival starts on the 15th of September. That’s only five days away! So much to do; so much to prepare!

Walking Out in the Willows of Nienna

With every Faire season come parties upon parties. There is always somewhere to go, always a performance to see, people one hasn’t seen in ages to remember why one hasn’t seen them in ages… lots of that.

In fact, sometimes I get downright tired of it all, and so I let The Author take the reins. Now, The Author is of course very similar to me, except that she has different priorities; or at least that’s what she says. I think we have the same priorities and she uses me to live vicariously as a Queen, but that’s neither here or there.

Willows PS - 3

How small we all look!

How small we all look, next to the goddess pool in Nienna. The Author, along with her friend Syeira and consort Nyza, appeared in Willows in matching outfits because they “like dressing up”.

Willows PS - 1

Here they are a little closer-up.

Here the are a little closer up. The Author and Syeira are in matching dresses by MishMash Fusion, in colourways of the designer’s Something True gown appropriately named Syeira (that’s the one of the left) and Gwen (that’s the one on the right). Upon seeing these two colourways, The Author of course said to Syeira that they must take photographs of the two of them together in these gowns, so that’s what they did. Nyza looks very fetching in his Muskateer outfit, but I suspect he was just along for the ride (no pun intended, ew! author kiss germs!)

Willows PS - 4

No better backdrop for a purple dress!

No better backdrop for a purple dress than the almost overwhelming blues of Nienna.

Willows PS - 5

They experimented with various poses.

They experimented with various poses, of course, even though they’re both a bit old to be part of the selfie generation (not that anybody can tell in the Fairelands).

All of our outings have seemed very short this season, which makes me sad. But The Author claims she is exhausted and just has so much to do, and blah, blah, blah. Personally, I think she’s just jealous that I have more fun than she does.

Willows PS - 2

The trees sure are beautiful, though.
