The “Borrower”

From Lira: It seemed like only moments ago that I walked out of that strange gallery. I was thinking of the Awenian skyline, trying to imagine I was back there, and it seemed a gust of wind came up, and I had that dizzying feeling I am learning to associate with portal travel and Realm-hopping.… Continue reading

No Rest For The Virtuous

From Friðrós: So. Her Fae Majesty is on strike or something. All anybody knows is that she had some kind of argument with The Author and took herself (and her Consort Nathaniel) off to some island for a “holiday”. Right as the season change from Summer to Autumn was meant to take place in Awenia.… Continue reading

Paradox

From Lira: Sometimes I think I’m losing my mind, which is weird, because my mind is really all I have. It’s all I’m good at. One minute, I was trying to hone this “second sight” thing, and then with no warning, I found myself in some kind of tunnel. Well, not exactly a tunnel. I… Continue reading

I knew these would be a reality when I decided to create a Realm that would be a bridge between the Fae Realms and the more mundane worlds out there. Still, particularly when the diplomatic season is just starting to heat up… Continue reading

For my first job, Her Majesty assigned me to get the new Fae Court building into shape, make sure it all… Continue reading

Return Of The Light
I think we choose to celebrate darkness, madly and wildly, until it catches us deeply and seems unwilling to let us go. Once darkness has had you like that, you end up either celebrating it even more wildly, or retreating, as I have done, into a more peaceful world. I am aware of the unimaginable… Continue reading

An Extra Place at the Table
It is October in Awenia. And so we watch the world change, and sometimes we make the world change, as our magical year turns toward its ending. And yes, we believe that inside all endings there are also beginnings, and that is how we see the world on a wheel. Our Three Realms, Land, Sea,… Continue reading

Show & Tell
It was my favourite part of primary school. Show & Tell Day. At our primary school, it was on a Tuesday, and you had to tell the teacher ahead of time if you were going to bring something and it couldn’t be alive or have any allergens, so that peanut-eating hamster was totally out. ‘Who has… Continue reading
