Tales of the Fae Lands

From Gwyneth

Well. It is not often that something comes to me and I know it must be an addition to something else. To more precisely define it, while I often add little touches here and there, I do not often do this when I have been asked to do something by someone else. Recently, The Author requested that I put something special on Island Four (we really must give that Island a better name) for her friend Kathy, who passed beyond her Realm recently. Now, this is twice in the last few weeks that just as I finished something, those lovely folks at Harshlands, led by genius artiste Kadaj Yoshikawa, came up with the perfect item, that I didn’t realise I needed, to add to something I’d already done.

As before, I got a FaeTime ping that they’d added another lovely magical musical instrument to their catalog. This one was called the “Harp of Mourning,” and it’s among the most beautiful instruments I have ever seen. I am so pleased with myself for having seen the message, and even more so for being on the magical express shopping plan. So of course I immediately ordered one. I may grab a second one, even.

Carefully placed in the gazebo

As it happens, this beautiful gazebo was also created by the artisans at Harshlands, so it’s only fitting that the harp go here.

And I know in my hear that The Author will approve of this. You didn’t hear it from me, but did you know she is a musician in her Realm? She promises she is not famous, but that she is very good. And the instrument she plays is a harp. Now, she has told me all about her harps, and they sound nothing like this harp, but I think she will appreciate the gesture anyway. It’s such a beautiful instrument, and it’s self-playing, which means the magic inside it can ebb and flow as folks desire when they come here to visit.

The Harp of Mourning

When I was finished placing the instrument, I got Brán to take another photograph, this one of the harp just by itself. We’ll send both of them off to The Author, along with these words. Maybe I’ll even send a copy of the photographs to Kadaj over at Harshlands.

I mean, there is not much more to say about this harp except that it is one of the most beautiful things I can imagine in this place of remembrance. I suppose I could tell you that if you want to acquire your own, you can visit the Shopping Faire We Love Roleplay, which opens in a few days, on the fourth of October, where you will find one to buy.
