Three Twisted Knots

Not all those who wander are lost.

I’m so easily distracted at the Faire. So easily distracted. I want to try everything at once, wear everything, buy everything!
So when I discovered that I could look like a UNICORN, of course I went for it!

I am dappled! I have dappling!

I am dappled! I have dappling!

I am dappled! I have dappling! (Seriously, this is one of the special skins made for the 2015 Fantasy Faire by 7 Deadly s{K}ins, and they are all stunning.) Look at how the light reflects off me! It reflects like this because I am dappled, dammit! I usually hate it when cosmetic artists put me in something that has very dark eyebrows: it’s just not my look. But this one… Oh, I think I am in love with this makeup artist. Her shop is called 7 Deadly s{K}ins; isn’t that a hoot? You can find her in the Sylvan of Spells realm at the Fantasy Faire. She has a practiced hand and can work with any skin tone: it’s just magic! OK, probably it actually is magic. I must take Dyisi here and see if she would like to get dappled too. I’d say, “Too bad Aoibheann is in a coma right now,” but I mean, Aoibheann’s almost always kidnapped or in a coma or something: I never get to take her anywhere. And this neckpiece; isn’t it gorgeous? It’s from an artisan called Alegria. I’ve seen and bought her work before but something about this collar-style necklace just grabbed me. When I heard she called the style “dragon born” I had to laugh, because, well. Read on.

Zoom out for wings? Yes.

It's an animal theme! These wings are from Material Squirrel.

Of course, as a Sidhe, I was not born with wings, nor do I require them for flying. However, as a mark of office, for fun, or even just to impress mortals, many Sidhe do wear wings from time to time.  I tend to wear them for important events where people need to know there’s a queen here, yo; or, just because I want to– right. It’s pretty much the same list as above. And in the Fairelands, you can find many artisans who will help you craft magical wings that can be either temporary or permanent fixtures on your body. Now of course, as a Fae Queen I’m capable of glamouring nearly anything, but a little help is sometimes a good thing! So many things to keep in my head all at once? If a magical wingmaker has what I’m looking for, then I’ll go for that. I found these beautiful wings on the same day I played Demon Dress Up with the penguins, but two pairs of magical wings at one time is too much, even for me!

Oh, sorry– this is a shopping trip, so I should tell you about the dress, yes?

Yes!

Vengeful Threads, Papillon. With a BUNNY!

This was an amazing find! I’ve been so covered with butterflies lately, it being spring and all, that I’ve become somewhat obsessed with them, so to find a corset maker that was making butterfly-shaped corsets? Well, it was my lucky day, but every day is a lucky day at the Fantasy Faire. And I hear that if we work hard enough at the Faire, we can make many lucky days for many people happen.

I love taking photographs in the Odyssey Realm.

I love taking photographs in the Odyssey Realm.

I love taking photographs in the Odyssey realm. I know they’ll disintegrate as soon as I get back to the Wylds, but…. Well. I am not meant to do this, but I am putting my Faire photographs up on a weblog. People call this a “blog” here. I heard about it from a panda bear in Poppetsborough, and she thinks I should do it more often, this blogging thing. We shall see.

The other thing I love about the Odyssey Realm is the stunning views of things you get when you, like me, are able to travel up high.

I will try to stop being so excited about the skin painting, but really—have you ever seen anything so beautiful? The painter said she could fix me up with a pair of ears or even a unicorn’s horn to go with the painting, but I declined, though she put them in a box (!) for me in case I wanted to try them later. I didn’t have the heart to tell her I already am a unicorn sometimes.

In this picture, you can also see the matching “dragon born” bracelets that came as a set with the necklace from Alegria.

I should really tell you what I found around that corner after my experience with the penguins, but right now I’m feeling the need to go try on some very posh dresses. I heard one of my favourite designers, Evangeline Miles, has a shop somewhere in the Odyssey Realm, so I am going to check it out now!
