I have become a creature of dreams and dreaming. My waking life, the drama of Desirée continuing, Lord Mornoth’s compellingly honourable responses to everything I do, even when I try to piss him off….
Anyway, I know I keep going on about how my dream life seems so much more interesting right now. If we were in the old days of Wylds (ha! the old new days, not the old old days!), I would simply ascribe this to His Unseelie Majesty and have done, try to distract myself. But now, after all I’ve been through with Dyisi and indeed with Luna’s continued weird excursions into alternate Realms…. I can’t help but wonder what I’m seeing, what I’m experiencing.

This is the fairytale-me I used to dream of. I think I should be embarrassed about that, now that I know what living fairytales really feels like, or maybe there is a place where this is real. Where I walk down a corridor and turn to walk out on to a balcony, preceded by two knights in full plat armour, and there is a glorious sheen to it all, the kind of sheen that only being a fairytale queen in a stunning dress and the jewels of the realm can bring to a moment. I feel somehow that I am in colour, while the rest of the scene is faded.
And it’s just an instant, just a glimpse. A picture from a dream, or a journey, or some kind of dream journey, or some kind of journey dream, and I am rambling again, and the the scene fades and I wake up where I always (usually!) wake up, in the Bower, what’s left of it, in the Wylds, what’s left of them, in my life, what’s left of it.
I need a free weekend with Nathaniel, when he’s not bothered by whatever’s up in Mysthaven. I must find a time, must find a place, when we can simply reconnect. But I know, somehow, that if I walk back to the Realm I’ve dreamed of, there will be trumpets in just a moment, and a cheering crowd. And what will I tell them? How will I address my people?
It waits only for another dream.
