Three Twisted Knots

Blogging Fantasy Faire 2015 has been an honour and a privilege. We’ve seen stunning sights, snarked our way through many an unwanted job, and shopped til we (didn’t!) drop.

And of course, we have some final thoughts.

We’ve been so amazed by the sights of the Faire this year, and we’ve grown, I think. The Gypsy Davey has faced his hopeless love for the Faery Queen and is attempting to move on. The Amazing Catwoman has found her personality niche and will be snarking her way through many an event to come.

And Gwyneth? Gwyneth is and always growing and changing: that’s what Sidhe do.

And she has a not-so-secret secret that she’ll be revealing soon enough.

But for now…

One last meditation upon the rose. One last breathtaking glimpse of Ichi-go Ichi-e, perhaps the most beautiful place Gwyneth has ever seen. One last taste of Odyssey in the background (with bonus last-day penguin!).

One last cuppa with the strange and delightful fae of Ichi-go Ichi-e, with the Aurora in the distance.

And then, and then.

And then we fly.

Midnight (well, midnight somewhere), 12th day. With other magical beings, we fly to the tops of dragons, to the rooftops of castles, to our assigned places, to the temples of Odyssey.

Time to Reboot the World.

Goodnight, Fantasy Faire 2015. You were a beauty.

I cannot thank enough the amazing people I’ve got to know this year, their shining spirits, their glowing, amazing, creative and compassionate souls.

There aren’t enough words to list all the highlights, and besides, I’d cry at many of them. Suffice it to say that the the Fairelands community, and not just the people behind the scenes but the people who come through and make it live, are a stunning, beautiful, more adjectives than I can put in this sentence, lot.

As of 1am SLT, 6 May 2015, you (we!) have raised a total of L$ 7,752,956 (that’s $ 31,012) for the American Cancer Society.

Keep working. Keep hoping. Keep relaying.
