Three Twisted Knots

Tales of the Fae Lands

An End, And A Beginning

From Gwyneth:

My darlings, I have returned from a long sabbatical. As always, it is entirely The Author’s fault and has nothing to do with me; however I am stuck explaining to you all the boring details of her life (ongoing mental stuff that I do not understand, and a big house move, which I do understand) before getting on to the really important bit, which is my life. Obviously.

Ostara’s Altar

As ever at this time of the year, much of my attention is focused on preparing for the Great Faire, which begins earlier than usual this year; it will open on 17 April. That means that other Faires and Events we usually attend in the spring, like Ostara’s Altar, are solo excursions for me; the Shining Throng are all busy making their own preparations, of course, and my staff are busy making my preparations.

Ostara’s Altar is always set in the beautiful parklands adjoining Eventyra, my very favourite nail salon, so it’s always a joy to visit, because I can get my nails done, and then go shopping!

Les Sucrereries de Fairy

Right off the starting block, I found this beautiful ensemble from Les Sucreres de Fairy. It even comes with ceremonial wings! And it fits perfectly. I decided to spend the day in it once I got back home to Awenia, even though it looked like there was a thunderstorm brewing (not unusual for Spring, even in Faerie).

I am never wrong about rain!

And oh; here it comes, the darkening sky, lightning on the horizon, and glorious spring rain. In this photograph, you can just begin to see the other amazing find I made: some beautiful makeup and tattoos from Miamai.

Gorgeous! Hush: I’m talking about the tattoos!

These beautiful tattoos and most of the makeup come from Miamai‘s stall at the Ostara’s Altar faire. They’re lovely, aren’t they? I particularly like the cheek tattoos, but that smoky eye is choice, as well! And a diadem like this means I don’t have to go through the trouble of sifting through my crown collection (you have no idea!), because it’s lovely and works with a lot of different outfits. Not to mention it doesn’t weigh a thing!

The Queen Must Dance!

I can’t properly celebrate a good thunderstorm without dancing in it. It helps that fae magic keeps me dry and never makes my hair frizz out. Here, you can see how luminous the wings are on this gorgeous outfit.

It would seem inconclusive if I didn’t show you some more photographs from the beautiful space they’ve created at Ostara’s Altar, and you can look forward to visiting it yourself when it opens tomorrow, 12 April, at 1pm SLT.

Beautiful ground spirals and trees! And a lovely little homestead to explore.
Moonstones from The Lore Lady (Hi, Lore Lady!) and a truly delicious statue there in the middle distance. And unicorns, natch.
