Bellisserian Voice: First Look at the Bellisseria 5th Anniversary Event Site!

The Bellisseria Fifth Anniversary Event is a movable feast!

… by which I mean, I got an ice cream (a magical ice cream!), grabbed this lawn chair (it’s FREE from Warm Animations!), dragged it down to the edge of the event grounds where the Big Sign is, and now I’m having myself a feast!

Hey, I’m easily amused!

Seriously, though: there is a lot to see here, and I’m only going to scratch the surface in this quick report on How Things Look.

Once I finished my ice cream, and it was a sunny day, so it didn’t take long, I walked back up into the main event space, past some of the most beautifully decorated Linden Homes you’ll ever see, and took in the surroundings.

There’s the Bellisseria Citizens office, next to the Bar and Grill, and just behind that building is one of the largest arrays of nifty free things you are likely to find in Second Life at any time. And yes, of course, I’ll be showcasing more of those, as I did in the first post, in case you missed it!

The kids’ play area is beautifully designed and laid out, with plenty of places for play, and plenty of places for parents and friends to sit, watch, and gossip, of course.

This statue really caught my eye, so of course I had to get a bit closer to shoot it with the afternoon shadows coming on.

Speaking of afternoon shadows, as I walked back from the play area toward the town square, the Bellisseria Bureau of Bureaucracy and the Gazette offices were benefiting from some nice fading light and lengthening shadows, themselves.

I’m wearing one of my favourite of the gift items in this series of photographs. It’s from Blue Moon Enterprises, called Zue, and the colours you’ll see throughout the event are reflected in the colours of the outfit itself. It’s rigged both for Maitreya X and Senra, and the matching shoes are included. I added the hat and the socks, but I’ll give you all that information in the credits at the end of this post.

This is one of the party spots at the event— there are plenty of great spots to hang out, dance, and mill around and chat. You’ll find both big gathering spaces and places designed for a couple or a small group to just have a quiet bit of time together. Of course, the event is full of fun activities, and I’ll be sharing the event calendar in the days to come, plus giving you a look inside the event itself. The Bellisseria Community is a great bunch of people, and everybody’s welcome to come learn more about the community (and mop up some amazing gifts whilst you’re here!). The event opens officially on the second of April, so get ready; it’s almost here!

Now that I’ve spent what feels like three solid days photographing the event site, but really it’s only been one (just a kind of long one!), I’m headed back down the boulevard just after the streetlamps (a gift from the Chalet dwellers in the Bellisserian Alps, I believe), and the whole site just has that air of readiness, you know? Like it’s taking a breath before the crowds come rushing in and the fun and games start. And we’ve barely scratched the surface with these pictures and brief comments: I haven’t even shown you the animal park, or the amusement park, or the art show… so much more to see!

But for now, it’s time for me to head back down to the water taxi and make my way back to Fairystone Park, where luckily I have a great Internet connection and can begin editing all these photos and building a cohesive story. And yes, that’s the 5th anniversary emblem that BMe’s Solas Enchantment has cleverly stitched on to my back pocket!
