From Gwyneth:
Sometimes, I discover things that surprise me. Even if they’re not outwardly magical, the things that come together in our magical Realms always bring with them a touch of the mystic. Today, I turned around and found myself in what looked to be a ruined arena. You might call it a ruin because there are some stones missing here and there, and tattered curtains line the edges, but I call it a marvel, because when Nature takes over, She really does it.

This was my first glimpse of the Geode Vine Arena. It’s called that now: I have spoken. There’s always a quality to the light in magical places, and this is no exception: the sun’s rays just spoke to me, and the soft wind gave just the right visual. So of course I started taking photographs, because you never know how long these places will exist.
The story here, such as it is, is a poem of colour and curve. And it didn’t matter which way I turned, there was a new way to see everything.

So many colours! I couldn’t see enough.

I figured they must have grown in somehow through the arches. There were so many, some sporting beautiful pink and purple blooms. The leaves were so soft, I wanted to lie down in them and take a nap. Then I figured I’d probably wake up part of a vine hive-mind, so I thought better of it.

I guess I’d never thought before about what might happen if you grew a bunch of heart shaped geodes and put them into a reclaimed arena dotted all about with huge vines. But now I have another vision in my memory when someone asks me, ‘What’s beautiful’?
There’s no more to say. So much beauty, words don’t do this place justice.
Notes & Credits
*s denote items that lovely creators have sent me to show you
- Geodes: Cerridwen’s Cauldron, Heart Geodes*. Get them for yourself in multiple sizes and configurations, at Uber. If you’re using a PBR viewer, don’t forget to play with the emissive colours!
- Vines: Cube Republic, Jungle Vines and Tillandsia*. Get them for yourself at the Cube Republic Main Store. Once again, if you’re using a PBR viewer, the textures will pop in ways that’ll amaze you.
- Photo Backdrop: FoxCity, Old Arena.
Nerdy Notes: These photos were shot in the Alchemy Beta viewer, which gives me the ability to bump photo resolution even farther up than usual. I used a lot of lighting effects in-world to get the shadows and highlights you see here. These photos have very little post processing: I applied a light matte effect to a couple of them and used a vignette to darken some edges, but compared to my fashion photography, what you see here is pretty much exactly what you’ll see in world with the right viewer.
